Reasons : You Can’t Photocopy your Money !!

Have you ever tried or thought of scanning and printing your own money ? Try for once and you will get to know, why it’s called stupid idea to do so.

you can’t make a copy of any type of currency, no matter what the denomination is. It’s because of the EURion constellation, which is an order of dots that appears on pretty much every major currency.

The EURion constellation (also known as Omron rings or doughnuts ) is a pattern of symbols incorporated into a number of banknote designs worldwide since about 1996. It is added to help imaging software detect the presence of a banknote in a digital image. Such software can then block the user from reproducing banknotes to prevent counterfeiting using colour photocopiers.


Research shows that the EURion constellation is used for colour photocopiers but probably not used in computer software. If you think that will remove these Eurion Constellation dot through Photoshop, then you are wrong.

Photoshop will identify and start notifying the sender that currency has been tampered with as soon as you try to edit in Photoshop software. And it immediately ‘Error’ will tell the command after which you could not use any Photoshop. But this is believed due to a different, unknown digital watermark rather than the EURion constellation.
